BASIC, an interstate trio featuring Chris Forsyth, Douglas McCombs of Tortoise, and Mikel Patrick Avery of Natural Information Society, releases “Index of Memories,” the first single from their upcoming self-titled second album. The track showcases a looser, more exploratory sound with braided stringwork and sampled textures, departing from their typical motorik motion while retaining their hypnotic, nodding chug.
